Summer seine fishing usually starts with a search for the fish. We use fish finders or echo sounders to help us in this task.
Fishing methods
Fishing is done all year round in Northeast Finland. The fishing methods used are seine fishing, net fishing, and trap fishing. In addition to these, in summer also fyke net fishing is done. The main catch is vendace, whitefish, perch, pike, roach, ruff, and burbot, which all are commercially used fish species.
